BANANE DE GUADELOUPE & MARTINIQUE

Created in 2003, the Union of Banana Producers Group of Guadeloupe and Martinique (UGPBAN) is a cooperative that gathers all the banana producers of Guadeloupe & Martinique.
They produce 185,000 tons of bananas of which 70% are marketed in France and 30% for export. These men and women are all driven by the same project: a passion for a fruit and for a modern, sustainable form of agriculture that respects the environment and the people who work there. Our producers cultivate, on a volcanic soil, an exemplary banana with unique flavors. United within a cooperative, their family farms guarantee cultivation practices at the cutting edge of agronomic science, guaranteeing traceability and quality for the consumer.
With IT2 and CIRAD, they are working on biological control, plant cover, insect trapping and all the alternative methods that make their banana the most virtuous in the world, one that strictly meets European standards and preserves the biodiversity of our islands. The Banana of Guadeloupe & Martinique is the only French banana.
