Description :
Once again my camels and I will be present at the International Agricultural Show from February 21 to March 2 as the first French and third European, representing globally recognized agricultural production and proposing an estimated increase of more than 8% to reach a global market of 18 billion in 2030. La Camelerie continues to reflect the image of our territory. Based in Hauts de France, it is the only camel farm with European approval for the production and processing of dairy products, one of the rare farms to keep more than 80 animals in Europe.
A real niche for agricultural diversification, my breeding makes it possible to produce milk with exceptional virtues (anti-allergenic thanks to its specific lactose, natural diabetes reducer, rich in vitamin, iron, good cholesterol, etc.) while preserving the current ecosystem (preference on poor, unenriched and little-sought-after foods such as brambles, thistles, nettles, rumex, etc. They have less pressure on the soil due to the morphology of their feet, etc.). Finally, dromedary breeding is a real guarantee of animal well-being since it requires the presence of the young, during lactation, near its mother, whether male or female. So, even if natural clearing is very interesting with camelids, tourist activity on the farm is essential (hiking, visits and unusual overnight stays on the farm...) I have also joined the Bienvenue à la Ferme network for this.
The International Agricultural Show allows me to highlight our animals since they will be facing the Camelerie stand where you will discover our range of camel milk cosmetics and taste milk and cheese. All week long, I offer to exchange, surrounded by my camels on pavilion 5.2 - stand H5.2-A129. I would like to take this opportunity to also invite you to the General Assembly of our French federation for the development of camelids on February 24 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the America room (pavilion 5) I am sure that this type of breeding will appeal to you. If the animal condition is respected, we obtain excellence in the food product while respecting the smallest ecological footprint. And even if you probably don't consider the dromedary as "specific" I am certain that I can bring a specific vision of agricultural breeding: perhaps ideas to adapt to our current systems!

French camel milk, the excellence of white gold

A stone's throw from Belgium, Julien JOB owns a farm similar to all those around Maubeuge (North), except for one detail: his livestock. Made up of 80 dromedaries and camels, this exotic herd stands out in the green landscape. However, we will have to get used to it, as suggested by the United Nations, which has declared 2024 the world year of camelids. The craze for camel milk is now obvious. The global market, valued in 2019 at 10 billion dollars, is expected to increase to 18 billion by 2027, representing growth of 6.8% per year. If Saudi Arabia remains the world's largest market with consumption of 33 liters per capita per year, growth over the period should shift to the West, particularly North America.
