Oupette: Limousine Cow, Mascot of the 2025 Paris International Agricultural Show

Hailing from Vienne, the birthplace of the Limousine breed, Oupette and her breeder, Alexandre Humeau, will represent the 61st edition of the event. Since 2012, the tradition of having a cow as the show's mascot has symbolized the hard work of all French farmers and highlighted their commitment to quality agriculture.
Raised alongside her breeder since her birth in September 2018, Oupette has become the mascot of Alexandre's farm thanks to her unique coat.

A seasoned competitor, Oupette began representing the Limousine breed in 2019 at the Poitiers departmental competition, where she earned first place in her category. Four years later, she repeated her success at the regional competition in Chabanais, Charente.
Being the mascot of the Paris International Agricultural Show 2025 is yet another opportunity for Oupette to showcase the expertise and dedication of her breeder, Alexandre. To ensure they shine, Alexandre leaves nothing to chance: daily grooming, behavior training, a tailored diet, and ample rest.
The duo is ready to dazzle at the show’s opening next February!
Alexandre, Oupette's breeder
Hailing from Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Vienne region, near the historical cradle of the Limousine breed, Alexandre Humeau was born in Poitiers to a cattle breeder father and a mathematics teacher mother. After studying at the Venours Agricultural High School in Vienne, followed by Vaseix in Limoges and Bernussou in Aveyron, Alexandre joined his family farm in 2010 alongside his father, uncles, and cousins.
A decade later, he chose to strike out on his own in the commune of Dienné (Vienne) to focus on breeding and selecting Limousine cattle.
Today, his farm spans 430 hectares and is home to around 100 Limousine cows.
In addition to cattle breeding, Alexandre also oversees cereal production and operates nearly entirely self-sufficiently, producing most of the feed for his herd. He markets his beef directly from the farm, in a local producer's store, to local company committees and retirement homes, and through the Limousine Label Rouge network. Since 2017, he has implemented soil conservation techniques closely aligned with agroecological practices.
Deeply committed to his community, Alexandre wears many hats:
- Certified Limousine breed judge since 2014.
- Treasurer of the Vienne Limousine Breeders' Union since 2016.
- Organizer of farm visits for schools and agricultural high schools, as well as open-house events for local residents, dating back to the 2000s.
With a strong passion for education, Alexandre is dedicated to connecting with both professionals and the general public to share insights about his work and the values of the agricultural profession.
